The Rate is in the Budget

Recently I received an email from somebody asking about the assigned value of $1.16 for the IQD in the 2014 budget, the assumption being that an RV from $.000857 to $1.16 must take place before the budget is implemented.  My response to them was that these "the RV is in the budget" rumours surface every year and every year they're wrong.  For some reason the rate shows up as 1.16 (or 1.17 in previous years) but the budget is always in trillions of dinars rather than billions as you would expect if a 100,000% increase in the dinar's value had occurred.  The obvious answer to anybody who isn't drinking the RV koolaid is that the current rate of 1166 dinar to the dollar is being represented as 1.16.  Since it happens that way every year I have to assume that it's not a typo, but a result of the way numbers are presented in Arab culture.  The gurus of course are always eager to pounce on any such opportunity to lead the uninitiated astray.

Consider for a moment the following:

In February of 2010 Breitling said that the RV is in the budget.

In February of 2011 somebody read a misprint of trillions as billions and concluded that it meant RV.

In February of 2012 there was again talk of the new rate in the budget.

The budget for 2014 doesn't contain any historic revaluation of the IQD.  The rate in the budget is less than a tenth of a penny, just like it was last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that ..............................

  1. Just like clockwork, you can predict that the clowns will suggest the rate is in the budget every year. It never fails. It's one of the most reliable points of anticipation they have to look forward to every year. There also seems to be considerable hype right before ramaddan and right at the end of one year and beginning of the next year. Occassionally they get a special gift like last year when sanctions were removed from Iraq or a couple years ago when the dinar peg was changed slightly. Then they really ramp up the hype. Anything that moves people off dead center when it comes to buying dinar or web site subscriptions is all they need. But just like every other year, the budget will come and go, the exchange rate of the dinar won't change (because, of course, we know it is mathematically impossible) and the excuses will start to fly. Next year at this time it will be deja vu all over again. Put that on your list of surefire predictions, Sam.

  5. Of course the article says nothing of the sort that is claimed (I got some other sites popping up from this link as well). The paragraph they are all a buzz over is

"In an attempt by the Government to improve the Iraqi currency, intended to delete the three zeros is pricing exchange rate 1.16 against the dollar, the dinar would replace the State budget $ 172 billion dinars, or the equivalent of about $ 150 million, and the Government is preparing to implement this step by adopting a "new dinar" requesting an order from the Central Bank to raise its value gradually down to be equal to the dollar. "

So clearly that says the rate becomes 1.16 after they delete the zeros. Right, now its 1166 IQD per 1 USD and after a RD its 1.16 new Dinar to 1 USD. Then if they want they can raise the rate (fewer dinars to the dollar) to an even dollar which would put the IQD at an even 1/10th of a penny, but there is no reason to do so unless say inflation becomes an issue so I doubt such will occur. If it does, it will as the article said be a slow process (e.g. maybe a percent or so a year). Over time the CBI is increasing its reserves as well (from the spread on taking in USD oil revenue from the GOI and selling it back to importers), but this is a slow process.

    1. Here's the problem jrg that the gurus gladly disseminate. They reverse those numbers and state 1 IQD will equate to 1.16 USD leading people to believe for the current notes because there will be no LOP!! There can't be a LOP if it means equal to the $. LOL... Then when a half witted individual catches on they claim it's a typo so they retain their royal guru position as always.

  6. Sometimes even the lopsters don't get it. Over at DV boomer11389 has hope for a small return.

    http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/170121-bank-of-indonesia-says-stable-economy-key-to-successful-redenomination/page-2#ixzz2qj0tW3Cn

"i truly believe iraq will get its exchange rate to 1000 to 1 even the cbi gov PROMISED it would but we all know iraq they lag way behind. i have never seen them quote of any rate under 1000 to 1 as of this present date"

But here is the flaw. Even if Iraq were to raise the rate as much as possible, which is about to an even 1/10th of a penny or the 1000 IQD to 1 USD boomer mentions, banks that do not handle IQD now are I think unlikely to start doing so (ie. what changes in their eyes?). You will still have to cash out via the dealers who will charge you 20%. After an RD no one will be buying IQD so it will be 20% off the price the dealers get when they ship it back to Iraq, so you'll be lucky to get $800 per million, which is what you can get now. If Iraq does raise the rate this way it will likely take many more years, to end up at the rate you can get now. It is not actually very likely that Iraq will do raise the rate that far either as they will want some headroom in case inflation becomes a problem. Most of the articles talking about raising the rate to parity with the dollar are talking about the rate of the redenominated dinar at 0.86 as being close to 1.00 . So there is no reason not to sell ASAP. What ever your win/loss level is today on any IQD you hold, it will never improve and likely get worse.

    1. I agree. Just as we paid the piper for everyone who touched the dinar prior to us receiving it, there will be a higher risk cost selling it back the closer it gets to RD or even outright civil war will shake many investors into selling, hopefully. I'm glad i was able to sell all of mine at a loss for $860/ million and run!!! Thanks to this site and John Jagerson it really solidified what I was feeling for the two yrs I held the camel crapola paper. There was a small hint of maybe at the beginning but never was I married to the idea of becoming wealthy because you just don't on currency unless you are a true "whale" of an investor (like a Trump wealthy-like) on established currencies who can dump huge money. Those who claim to be wealthy dinar investors and hang out in dinar forums are full of sheister. No one can get rich on $1k investment unless it's penny stock and shoots up to $400 overnight. But to date I am unaware of any stock in the history of wall street heard that happen.

LOL common sense would tell anyone with a quarter of a brain that after like 10 times of being wrong the 11th and 12th times they will be wrong too.....whats the definition of insanity?? the dinar nut jobs certainly are insane but have allowed themselves to be driven insane! LOL

the idiots on dinar updates cling to every word this guy says as well as that idiot bgg and Pinocchio poppy

Randy Koonce ~ How are you makin it?? One of the things to go over is that fact that the IMF and UN have not been very forceful in making Iraq complete the things they agree upon. After such, the IMF in their urgency to get this RV done, gave Maliki more concessions. This creates a spoiled kid effect which Maliki does not need more of…I do not know it all – just because I have typed a email. Please use your own judgement on what is about to happen. I do feel strongly we are just about done…

If for some reason it does not go – do not be discouraged. We will see this thing through.

Again – if we get past Monday then give me at least a week before I can get the issues….Just pray for this weekend.

    Check CBI.IQ

I am extremely hopeful at this time. ~ Randy Koonce

  11. Meanwhile in Iraq:

In tense Baghdad, a wave of deadly blasts

The deadliest blast was caused by a car bomb that exploded near a Western-style mall in the western Mansour district, killing at least six people. At least 13 other people died in six other incidents across the city, Iraq's capital.

At least 74 people were wounded in the attacks -- six car bombs and one roadside bomb.

Earlier Saturday, at least one person was killed and 11 others were wounded when two explosive devices detonated in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, the city's police said.

The attack targeted a marketplace in the southern part of the city, police said.

Iraq has been engulfed in fighting and political instability in recent months. The United Nations said 2013 was the deadliest year in Iraq since 2008, with almost 8,000 people killed, most of them civilians. On Wednesday, at least 61 people were killed and scores wounded in the latest wave of attacks in the Iraqi capital and across the country.

Fears of all-out sectarian war have increased since violence broke out in Anbar province, where al Qaeda-backed militants and Iraq's security forces have been battling for control of Falluja and Ramadi.

The violence recalls the bloody fighting at the height of the Iraq war that nearly tore the country apart.

  12. The good ole "the RVs in the budget" hype. LOL......every year like clock work.

LadyGracesDaddy will not shut up about the stupid HCL being part of this years budget. What happened to Chapter 7 being the key to the "RV"? I guess nothing happened SUDDENLY after they were released from Chapter 7 so the next hype event is the HCL. When nothing happens SUDDENLY after the HCL is past then LGD will find some other irrelevant event to keep his only hope at ever being rich alive. Poor guy. Its going to be a big let down when this years budget means nothing just like every years budget since massive RVs are not a real thing. Maybe someday he will SUDDENLY wake up to that reality.

In fact the IQD revalued dozens of times from 2006-2009 with none of those conditions met. It's just bait to lure in the newbies and keep them dangling.

[millionday] risk not that article that i had but i saw myself on iraqi television that finance is saying that they dont think they are ready --- CBI has the power and they stated that they are ready

[millionday] i would like to comment on TNvolunteer

[h-spot] I thought a redenomination is what we want?

[millionday] great to see you hun and the thing i wanted to say was that a redenomination is what is going to happen in the country and let me expand on this

[millionday] in country when the currency is resulted by the new rate and new prices as in 5,10,25,50,100,250,500,1000--- that is what we want because

[millionday] the only thing that will cause the prices to change so that they need those amounts of currency is a change in what they spend to develop and market at new exchange rates with the globe

[millionday] the change in what amount or value they need on their tender is done by redenominating as in removing the three zeros smile

[h-spot] on xe.com, everyone gets scared when it said iraq is planning to redenominate. But that is what we want to happen.

BIS can't use their currency until they declare Article VIII for international settlements. No body will accept Iraq's toilet paper which is only good in their own country. The WTO will not let them in as a permanent member with the currency as it is. The tarrifs will be inflationary. Without a currency their economy and all the press recently touting about Iraq's economical rebirth in 2014 and the explotion of a free market, will again be wrong. In the real world, anyone capable of reading that article can see it does not mention currency or Iraq once, and like most "reset" talk on the economy is all about restoring economic confidence and debt. Only in delusional RVaholic pumper-land does any article with the word "reset" in somehow get wildly twisted to mean the world's 10 most inflated currencies "must not really be inflated", that it's still the 1970's, and that some magic unicorns & fairies will appear and create a Communist-style centrally planned global govt which attempts a Soviet-style micro-managing of everyone's floating currencies based on totally arbitrary nonsensical values (which of course, just so happens to constantly coincide with whatever foreign banknotes the conspiracy author personally owns...)

The response by Dinaraholics to anything with the word "reset" in is like a real life Pavlov's Bell, except instead of salivating over a real tangible juicy dinner, it's just a bunch of conspiracy-addicted scam victims with delusions of grandeur who swagger around with $860 worth of foreign banknotes trying to be something they aren't, desperately looking for something - ANYTHING - to convince themselves they're millionaires every time they see or hear any perfectly normal report on Iraq or the words "reset" and "economy" in the same paragraph...

Give it up DinarBeliever, and stop embarrassing yourself. Every article you've posted has ended up saying the opposite of what you think it is - this being just another in a long line of failed pumping. You are hallucinating in the literal clinical sense now. Either that or as jrg said - you didn't even bother to read what you posted and are just engaging in "desperation link spamming".

There is nothing whatsoever "unfairly undervalued" about the IQD which fell in value 1,000x in the 1990's due to +300% rates of inflation each year for almost a decade. Just like there's nothing "unfairly undervalued" about the Vietnamese Dong that fell for exactly the same reason (+775% inflation year after year after year...). That is the plain & simple truth. Man up and have the courage to start dealing with reality and stop posting the same stupid conspiracy trash over & over. Trying to throw anything out as "proof of the RV" has become almost like a drug addiction for many - yourself included, and it is seriously not healthy to keep living with such a constant daily mental split from reality for that long.

All you've done is spam off half a dozen links that talk about the Euro and SDR's and quote Bloomberg's token resident "Armageddon Gold Bug" fanatic, and you're sitting there shaking with fervor at the thought of some "GCR" will make you rich for no related reason. Max Keiser was talking about buying gold bullion to hedge the $, not IQD (and even then, he's been predicting "gold will double this week" every week since 2007 including the past year where gold fell 25%)... LOL. Almost as "great" a track record as the RV guru's...

None of those links say what you think they do. The Dinar is just as much a fiat currency as everyone else's. If all global fiat currencies eventually collapse that will include the Dinar. Iraq is running the same budget deficit s the USA. Iraq has debts too, etc.

And if all of Iraq's 78bn USD reserves become utterly worthless, all Iraq has left is just 30t of gold (barely $1.2bn worth to back 85,000bn Dinar). That works out to a rate of 70800:1
. That's one hell of an "RV" - the wrong way... LOL. You really don't get it do you? The USA has 300x more gold than Iraq and several times LESS currency in circulation. If all fiat currencies collapsed, Iraq would tank even faster than the USD...

      - Iraq has printed 85tn Dinar for only 30m Iraqi's (2,833,333 Dinar per Iraqi) and has 30t of gold

I cannot even begin to understand your deluded conspiratorial mindset that the $ is somehow "worthless" and the Dinar is "priceless" when Iraq has printed 70-85x more fiat paper money per % population than the Federal Reserve has done with the $, and has 300x less gold to back it with...

It is 100% illegal under UK law for regular bank staff to give any over-the-counter investment advice unless they are qualified IFA's (Independent Financial Advisors) with a full Certificate in Financial Planning or the Certificate for Financial Advisers, and you actually pay for that advice, and even then it's 100% illegal for everyone including your "bank manager" to claim exotic untradable currencies like the Iraqi Dinar can be traded in UK banks when they clearly cannot then tell you "not to tell anyone else because it's all a big secret". Pure unadulterated Guru BS.

... Your stupid made-up "bank stories" where you and all your friends claim UK banks are "secretly telling people to buy Dinar" either puts your banker on the line for fraudulent investment mis-selling in clear breach of FSA regulations - or YOU on the line for libel for falsely claiming "your banker" said things he almost certainly wouldn't have done if he wanted to keep his job... 3. DB, I didn't actually know your name. Last month someone named "Slingshot_Fuel" posted a message here claiming your real name. I then saw your frantic panicked response demanding Sam delete it (which he did but not before everyone here saw it) and assumed it was because it was your genuine name due to your hysterical reaction at having your real name shown clearly next to your scam pumping. Which you've just confirmed that it is. I didn't "hack" or steal anything if that's what you're worried about. And part of your name plus your e-mail was in plain sight on your DinarVets scam pumping account which you voluntarily published and has been visible for months. So it wasn't actually me who originally published / discovered it and talk of legal action is an utter joke given YOU published your own details to the web on your own DV profile and pumping a well known Internet scam under that name! Who is this Slingshot_Fuel person and how did he/she get your surname? I have absolutely no idea. You'll have to ask him.

Purely as a gesture of goodwill, I've edited your surname out of my original post, but I do expect you to understand YOU cannot argue both sides of the fence with your incessant hypocrisy & double standards. It was YOU who have on at least two occasions tried to find my location (even though I have no intention of finding out yours) with your silly "you're from Hawaii!" claims (which are false). It's you wailing on about how "If you're not from Hawaii then you must be "Rob Saunders" person. (WTF?) It was also YOU who wanted to "meet up in person" - something else I have zero intention of doing given your wildly inappropriate & childish behaviour. So far though, you sound like a childish cry-baby who can't take what you've dished out yourself in the past...

As for seeking legal advice, there is no legal right to privacy on the net especially when YOU churn out 300-odd posts per month positioning yourself as an amateur "guru" on an account with your own name on it! And it is YOU who publicly posted your own e-mail address on your own account (which purely out of common decency I haven't reposted), and it is YOU who are pumping a get-rich quick Internet scam and desperately trying to hide behind an anonymous avatar whilst doing so, not me. It is YOU tacitly encouraging people to buy / hold Dinar because you falsely claim "UK banks will trade them". YOU are also the troll here spamming off dozens of links that have nothing to do with Iraq. And you're the LAST person to want to seek "legal advice" given it's related to a well known scam that YOU have been pumping month after month on the back of fabricated "proof" and misrepresented "facts"!

I hope you can now see where you are going wrong and much of this is a backlash as to how YOU have acted in the past with YOUR incessant trolling & scamming.

    1. Hey thanks for your kind comments, Rob! As jrg said I think DB (Mr A.R.) is one of those people who's invested a lot more than he's letting on (both monetary & emotionally) and is now frantic, in deep denial and simply running scared of the whole thing coming apart, all he can do is lash out hoping reality will "go away". It's also been observed that he spent a lot of time over on DinarVets telling everyone he was going to "whip our butts" and to come and watch, then when he came over here, the exact opposite happened again and again and again... he's ended up losing a large chunk of his DV cult following (who used to egg him on - but now there's a stony silence beyond the desperate whimpers of dontlop) and that's something that appears to be really 'sticking in his craw'. Thanks.

  44. I have no idea how DB could come to see this whole interaction as (posted on DV http://snipurl.com/28h42s8) "Hi ya fib it was attempting to show genuine news sites to those cockroaches but they twist and lie and make up stuff to fit their agenda. Then they resorted to name calling.".

Has he simply invested more than he can afford to lose and is scared? Is it just not being able to face his dream of riches being shattered? Has he told the bank story so many times that even though we know it never happened, that he actually remembers it that way? (memory can be far more malleable than we appreciate sometimes). We likely will never know. Even if my expertise was in psychology instead of computers I seriously doubt there is enough information from these posts to come to any conclusion.

So the best approach in my view is just to respond to posts such as DB's with the simply truth and resist the temptation to comment on the poster's character (I know its hard). DB may well never see reality in this matter, but others that come here will be best served by seeing one side that rants and twists and is clearly desperate and the other that calmly posts the reality of the situation with links to back it up. The last thing we want is to give the appearance that this is just one opinion Vs another with each side trying to shout louder than the other. No amount of twisting news articles or name calling can make 2+2 come out to 12,000 instead of 4, and that is what this really comes down to.

So indeed Brian sets an excellent example that I hope we all will try and follow.

  45. There is not other way to describe dinarbeliever but as a troll and an idiot. Really, there isn't. We've ran down the whole list of tolerance, assistance, forgiveness, etc. and at each level he has played both forums DD and DV. 1. I haven't suggested any of those things in DB's case. DB's posting behavior is certainly what is called being a troll and I have pointed that out in previous posts. Venturing further into what causes DB to post such nonsense is, for me, not only rather speculative but also largely pointless. To me, having the idiocy of a post clearly revealed is far more persuasive then seeing its poster being called an idiot. The latter informs the reader of your assessment while the former leads the reader to make that assessment. That assessment may well be valid at least to most of those reading including myself, but if the point is to debunk the RV myth, its at least irrelevant and maybe even detrimental. I understand the draw to let it out, to call an idiot an idiot! But when I read such things even when I am in full agreement, it only detracts from the content. Of course YMMV.

      Delete
    2. In DB's case if we look back there is a wealth of "debunking" of some very popular myths that has resulted from his posts, in his irrational obsession to prove his point (whatever the heck it may be!) he has accomplished just the opposite of what he set out to do. He presented some of the same arguments that were being debated over at DV where in the absence of meaningful discussion that included the actual truth and any semblance of logic they could appear to have some merit, at least to some folks, but over here they were quickly and decisively exposed for the absurdities they are! By having some of his followers come here to watch their hero present his "Massive response" to the "Lopsters" on this site a lot of folks saw just how silly some of these arguments are when discussed in an environment of truth and logic as opposed to irrational dreaming and just plain BS presented by those actively perpetuating the scam. Without a doubt a lot of others came here also to see what all the fuss is about after DB went back over there with a different attitude, he went from being boastful and confident to groveling and whining which clearly exposed not only him but also his silly arguments! So in spite of what DB has tried to do IMO he has been in some ways an asset to the effort to expose this scam for what it is and it very well may have had an even bigger effect than we might imagine, in any case I SERIOUSLY doubt he has earned any respect from anyone for his efforts!

      Delete
  46. Yes jrg, you are totally correct. I believe that this site is for people to come and have an honest and valid conversation about this RV myth. I know that Sam has said many times that he wants an open forum and ideas and myths debated and debunked. My mom has always told me that people that act like DB are just looking for attention and when we go to those places that jrg is talking about we feed into is attention. If we all just did like Brian did in some of those last exchanges explain what it is and then his catch phrase, "Unsurprisingly, you just don't understand a single word of it..." That will just blow all the steam out of him and will show anyone else looking at this blog and we are truthful and keep our cool.
